Ca'Rezzonico
Ca Rezzonico chandeliers are the maximum expression of Murano glass art.
The first Ca'Rezzonico chandelier dates back to the early 18th century, commissioned by the noble Venetian family the Rezzonicos from which it will take its name.
Ca'Rezzonico chandeliers stand out for their beauty and complexity, their creation is an entirely handcrafted process that requires enormous experience and months of work. Only the most skilled glass masters are able to make such chandeliers.
A complex metal structure, entirely handmade, acts as a skeleton for the chandelier which will be covered with hundreds of small glasses called "bossole".
All the glass parts of the chandelier are blown and shaped by master glassmakers, using different techniques from the "rigadin" which can be streaked or spiraled to the "balloton" with a mesh finish.
